ABOUT ME
At the heart of who I am is a genuine curiosity and fascination with people, connection and what shapes us as individuals. My professional background has centred around mental health and support; working in inpatient settings, one-to-one community roles and charitable organisations - with the aim of meeting people where they are and supporting them in whatever way is most helpful. These experiences led me to train as a counsellor; to create the kind of space where people feel genuinely heard, understood and accepted.
I feel it’s important to acknowledge I pursued this career because of who I naturally am, rather than the other way around. I’ve always been reflective, curious and open-minded, with a genuine interest in understanding myself, my relationships and the ways we connect with one another. I value authenticity and a willingness to see things from different perspectives - qualities I try to bring into my work, as well as my own life.
Outside of work, I value having a life that feels full and balanced - full of connection, joy, and, where is appropriate, silliness. I love spending time with friends (or meeting new ones), being outdoors connecting with nature, music and dancing, and discovering new places and experiences. I believe therapy is one part of a much bigger picture: we are whole people, with relationships, experiences, bodies, interests, hopes and challenges that all shape who we are.
